This innovative grip was designed by Tina M. Butterfield, MSOT, OTR/L. It will encourage proper finger positioning while holding a pencil or writing. By holding a pencil properly your students will have less hand fatigue, build their fine motor development, and increase their handwriting legibility.
The round shape of the Butter Grip will guide your students fingers to grasp around it. Your student's fingertips will rest below the grip on the pencil. As your students write or color, the open webbed space inside the grip will provide support to the finger muscles.
This grip can be used with both left and right-handed students. It easily slides over any standard size pencil, stick pen, or crayon. It is approximately one inch in diameter and can work with elementary age children, as well as adults.
