My son has a sensory processing disorder and it is mostly audio. He doesn't care for some sounds, yet he loves the rainstick. He will flip it over and put it right up to his ear. As some one who doesn't have spd, I find it can get noisy. So we use it as part of a reward system.

Excellent to cue for start/end of activities. Some students have an aversion to the particular sound it makes.
