Autism Chewable Jewels Rectangle Necklace

My daughter is not autistic but has a chewing issue. Her therapist recommended this site so I figured I would give it a shot. So far he loves her necklace, she keeps it in her backpack to use at school. Her friends don't even notice that its a chew necklace. Thanks so much!

The necklaces I purchased for my autistic great grandson and his sister were very well received by both of them. My great granddaughter is not autistic, but is a chewer and now uses the necklace instead of her fingernails, blankets, etc. Their parents are very pleased with the necklaces. Thank You.

I bought this for my oldest son (he's 6) because of his non stop chewing on anything and everything. He has ADHD and if full of energy and I think he was just chewing on things because he didn't know what else to do with all of that energy! Now that he has this he doesn't chew on anything else. It's amazing! The only down side is he has already bitten through it at the bottom. I don't think this thing leaves his mouth though unless he's eating so I'm not upset that he has already bitten through it. My son calls it his magic necklace and loves wearing it also. I will be ordering more of these soon!

I would have given a higher rating had the necklace not broke two times within two weeks. My daughter loves her chewlry and had it not been for her teachers using their own supplies she wouldn't have been able to wear it. It's a shame the part that goes around the neck is so flimsy.

When I notice my son chewing on he clothes or a pillow I simply hand him his necklace without saying much. He will chew for a brief time then set it down.

My son chewed through the string & top of necklace within 10 minutes but likes the size it is just the right size for his mouth. Would like to find a product he can't chew to pieces. Have been through many.

My son has been chewing his pencils at school and even tears and eats paper, he has been doing this since first grade. I found this website and ordered one of these necklaces for him and it has been wonderful! I am thinking of getting another one as a back up just in case he looses this one. My husband feels that I am enabling his chewing habit, but his teachers have seen such an improvement in class and his concentration since he has had his necklace that I am sticking to my guns and letting my son keep the necklace! I thought this product was great it helped him to stop chewing the skin on his fingers. But unfortunately it only lasted for a week and then I had to toss it because he chewed right through it.

I bought these for my grandson after my daughter called and told me that he had chewed through three shirts in a two week period. They are wonderful and his favorite one is Camo colored...he thought that was so neat. They work wonders and no more holes in his shirts!

MUST HAVE! My son's third grade teacher is just as addicted to the tranquility chew jewelry provides to her classroom as my son is addicted to the comfort of chewing. He is diagnosed with ADHD and sings/hums ALL of the time, this helps him keep it low and even to himself. The chewing also aids in paying attention.

A couple of his friends call him "chew toy boy", but we have turned that into a badge of honor through his extreme love for animals, especially dogs. He often plays he is a dog, now he has a real chew toy of his own.

My son is eight, so he did go through the first one quickly (a few days), just make sure to follow the mfg instructions to check it before you give it to your child. Loose pieces can be trimmed with a little effort (won't pull off). He is training himself not to chew so hard because he does not like the way a damaged one feels in his mouth.

All around chew toys are a win-win for everyone! Nat Autism Res has GREAT price too!

My 5 year old son uses this daily to replace the pacifier and mouthing and chewing other objects. He chews a lot and this is holding up pretty well. I bought it so he wouldn't lose it at school but he doesn't like to wear it as a necklace. He broke the string the first day and we had to re-tie it.

The chewable toy itself was great. Once we encouraged our son to use it it was great. He had ceased chewing and licking on his clothing. He has used it to help with frustration. However, the string was weak. It broke several times, and we eventually had to replace with a different type of string. We replaced it with a stronger string with magnetic clasps.

My daughter loves the necklace. It is great for her sensory issues. She hasn't been chewing on her fingers as much.

This proved to be a great tool for our student. He would chew his sleeves and collar until it was soaked and shredded. Now the necklace is a permanent fixure in this mouth. When he comes in morning, the first things he askes for is his necklas. It also helps him focus when given instructions.

This is an excellent tool for my daughter who is severly autistic and a biter. However, she has already chewed through the part that connects the pendant to the string. I so wish I had ordered several more. They are too expensive to be disposable however.

My daughter likes this necklace and it is helping her from literally chewing through the wood on her pencil at school. However, she likes chewing on the top of the charm where the string loops through and she has almost bitten though the top of the charm after only a few weeks. I think I'll try a pencil topper next time.

The "jewel" on this product is excellent. My son can chew this for hours. The string that it comes on was worthless. He broke it within an hour of wearing it and I had to replace it with a stronger string.

Worked well, but my student easily chewed it off the string within a couple of days. Then he would try to stuff the whole thing in his mouth to chew on it which was very obvious to others and disturbing to them. Plus I was afraid he would choke on it.

I purchased this necklace for my 12yo son. It definitely helped him maintain his focus at school, where he's not allowed to chew gum while doing his work. He liked the shaped, that it wasn't girly looking, and it didn't pull at his hair, as the coiled chewelry necklace occasionally did. Unfortunately, the second day he wore it, between chewing and pulling on it, the medallion broke away from the cord. That would be the only thing I would change but, would still purchase it again, and plan to.

My 16-year-old daughter really likes this. She wears it almost every day, and I think it has helped her. I only gave it 4 stars, because I don't love the look of it. It's very large and "clunky", but like I said, my daughter loves it, and I guess that's what matters most!

This is a well-designed mouth fidget. Its colorful, non-toxic, easy to clean and store. I liked the prism ones as well. I used it with teens with autism who were particularly interested in science fiction and super heroes. Although it is primarily designed to provide oral proprioceptive sensory inputs in an age appropriate manner it also helped minimize thumb-sucking behaviors. It would be interesting to have it in different flavors. Also it would be beneficial to have a replacement string in case the one provided gets worn off.

My daughter really loved the idea of this necklace and she really needs it. The problem is that the material that the chewy is made out of attracts so much fuzz, etc., that I do not blame her for not wanting to put it in her mouth.

This is just what my son needed. It was convenient. He was able to focus more because he would be chewing on the necklace and not overly focused on what was about to happen.i would reccomend this...my son is 7.

This is a great product for older children with oral sensory issues. I had always used the P's, Q's, Arch grabbers, and T's, but she is 7 and in the 1st grade now. I feel this product is more appropriate for her age group, and I dont get as many questions from children and adults due to it looking like jewelry. GREAT tool for children who mouth innapropriate items, or those who chew nails and\or clothing.
