IEP Individualized Education Program IEPs and Advocacy
The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act requires schools , parents and students ( if they are able) to work together to create an individualized education program (IEP) for each student with a disability. Every child is unique and so every IEP must be unique designed to meet the student’s needs. The purpose of an IEP is to create a program that will help the student stay actively involved and progressing in the general education curriculum.
